Before booking a Seoul dermatology visit from abroad, confirm who actually handles your consultation language, whether the treatment plan fits your stay, and where you recover afterward. Dr. Kim Yeonjin of UH CELL Clinic Gangnam walks through what to ask and why it changes the plan.
Before booking a Seoul dermatology clinic from overseas, confirm three things: whether interpreter staff are actually on site for your language, whether the treatment plan is designed to fit your travel dates, and where you recover once the procedure is done. At UH CELL Clinic's Gangnam branch, Japanese, Chinese, and English interpreter staff work on site, and the clinic itself sits inside the UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam hotel.
I'm Dr. Kim Yeonjin, director of UH CELL Clinic's Gangnam branch.
A consultation in your own language is no longer an unusual request from patients traveling to Seoul. According to a release the Ministry of Health and Welfare published in April 2025, 1.17 million foreign patients came to Korea for treatment in 2024, and patients from Japan and China made up 60.0% of that total. The same release showed dermatology as the single largest specialty by share, at 56.6%, with Seoul drawing 85.4% of all foreign patients nationwide. Roughly 90% of the patients at our Gangnam branch travel from Japan, Taiwan, China, and English-speaking countries.
Who Actually Handles Your Consultation
When you send a booking inquiry, ask directly who will explain your diagnosis and treatment plan, and in what language. Japanese, Chinese, and English interpreter staff are on site at our Gangnam branch to support your consultation in your language.
A few things are worth preparing before you arrive:
Any procedures you've had in the last year, with dates
Allergies and current medications
Your total days in Korea and your return flight time
Your Travel Dates Shape the Plan
Most patients visiting from abroad need the procedure and the recovery to fit inside two to seven days. Because of that, treatment intensity and sequencing are adjusted so the downtime lands inside your schedule rather than after it. The shorter your stay, the more it helps to confirm your appointment before you leave home, so the time slot you actually want is still open when you land.
Where Recovery Happens After the Procedure
Our Gangnam branch occupies the second and third floors of UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam, at 13 Teheran-ro 8-gil, inside the hotel building itself, not a separate clinic building nearby. Treatment takes place in a private room, and if you're staying at the same hotel, you can go straight from the treatment room back to your own room to rest.
UHC hotel guests can choose one complimentary recovery option: a 30-minute oxygen chamber session or a vitamin IV drip. Using both in the same stay is possible, but the IV drip carries a 55,000 KRW charge once the oxygen chamber has already been used for free. Ask our front desk for the current terms when you book, since promotion details can change.
FAQ
Does a doctor with a Japanese medical license see patients at your clinics?
Our Seocho branch director, Dr. Kim Kyungsoo, holds both Korean and Japanese medical licenses. The Seocho branch operates inside UH FLAT The Seocho, a separate building from our Gangnam location.
Can I get the oxygen chamber and the vitamin IV both for free?
No. UHC hotel guests select one of the two as a complimentary option. Using both adds a 55,000 KRW charge for the IV drip.
Can I walk in without booking ahead?
The specific time you want may not be open on a walk-in basis. If your stay is short, I'd recommend confirming a consultation slot before you travel rather than after you land.
Skin response and recovery time vary by individual. Please discuss your specific diagnosis and treatment plan directly with a physician.
