I recommend planning pico laser pigmentation treatment around your skin’s recovery and departure date, rather than assuming all downtime will end within a 3-day stay. Scabbing and temporary pigment changes vary with the pigmentation being treated, the treatment approach, and your skin’s response.

Hello, I’m Dr. KIM YEONJIN, head physician at UH CELL Clinic’s Gangnam branch. Here is how I suggest thinking about scabbing and downtime when you have a short visit to Korea.
Think about downtime in two stages
The first stage is the visible reaction immediately after treatment and over the following days. Pigmentation may temporarily look darker, and scabs may form. How soon these changes fade varies considerably with the type of pigmentation, the treatment approach, and your individual skin condition.
For that reason, I recommend leaving room in your schedule for the possibility that scabs will still be present on day 3. A short stay is not a reliable deadline for recovery.
The second stage is care after you return home. Until recovery is complete, the treated area may remain vulnerable to irritation and recurrent pigmentation. I recommend continuing to monitor your skin and contacting the clinic where you received treatment if you have questions.
How to plan a 3-day visit
- Arrange an assessment soon after arrival, then decide whether to proceed with pigmentation treatment during this visit.
- If you receive treatment shortly before departure, allow for the possibility of traveling home with scabs still present.
- Share the length of your stay and your departure date during the assessment so that treatment timing, including whether to proceed, can be discussed alongside your skin condition.
I would not treat the departure date as a promise that visible reactions will have settled. The decision needs to account for both your pigmentation and the time available before you leave.
Treatment and recovery logistics at Gangnam
Our Gangnam clinic is located inside the UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam hotel. Guests staying at UHC hotels can choose one complimentary option: a 30-minute oxygen chamber session or a vitamin IV infusion. If they choose to use both, the vitamin IV infusion costs KRW 55,000.
Our Gangnam branch has interpretation staff who support Japanese, Chinese, and English. I also explain the setting and logistics in Gangnam Lifting and Anti-Aging: Planning Treatment and Recovery Logistics.
Skin reactions and recovery times differ from person to person. Please bring your travel schedule and departure date to the consultation so we can discuss treatment timing with those limits in mind.
