Oxygen Therapy After a Procedure: What We Offer

Our Gangnam clinic offers a free oxygen chamber and vitamin IV drip to hotel guests after a procedure, so recovery happens without leaving the building.

Our Gangnam clinic sits inside the UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam hotel building, and we offer a high-concentration oxygen chamber and vitamin IV drip free to hotel guests after a procedure. You can take the elevator to your room instead of arranging transport somewhere else to rest, which matters most for visitors staying only two to seven days.

Oxygen Therapy After a Procedure: What We Offer

Recovery time after a procedure is the real question behind most inquiries we get about oxygen therapy in Gangnam, more than any claim about what the chamber does to results. A patient finishes a lifting or skin booster session with lingering swelling and warmth in the treated area and needs somewhere to spend the next few hours before flying home or continuing a short trip. We placed our recovery space inside the same hotel building to answer exactly that need.

The Question Every Short Visit Runs Into

International patients rarely have the luxury of a slow week of rest. Many arrive for two to seven days, schedule a consultation and procedure early in the stay, and need the recovery window compressed into the same building where they are already staying. Swelling and heat sensation typically peak in the hours right after a lifting or injectable treatment, and where a patient spends those hours affects how comfortable the rest of the trip feels. Because our clinic occupies floors inside the hotel rather than a separate address, a patient can move from the treatment room to a guest room, or to the recovery lounge, without stepping outside.

What Hyperbaric Oxygen Is Thought to Do During Skin Recovery

Hyperbaric and high-concentration oxygen exposure has a real, if still developing, research base. Sean Fisher and coauthors reported in a 2024 systematic review in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery that hyperbaric oxygen therapy is hypothesized to improve ischemia, reduce swelling, and minimize secondary hypoxic tissue damage, with the broader goal of supporting healing and reducing downtime after aesthetic procedures. Separately, Bralipisut Asadamongkol and John H. Zhang of Loma Linda University School of Medicine, writing in Medical Gas Research in 2014, reviewed evidence that hyperoxic conditions may ease UVB-induced wrinkle formation and could play a role in collagen synthesis and skin elasticity.

Those are mechanisms still under study, described here so a patient understands what the research actually tested. Whether our own chamber delivers those effects has not been established, and we treat it as an open question rather than a promise.

Where the Evidence Stops

We think the limits matter as much as the mechanisms. Parnis, Magrin, and Hassan published an evidence-based review in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology in 2024 covering seventeen human studies and 766 participants, and concluded that cosmetic use is not currently among the approved indications for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Many clinics market it for skin rejuvenation, but the review found the evidence base still developing rather than conclusive.

That is why we frame the oxygen chamber as a recovery amenity, a comfortable place to spend the hours right after treatment, rather than a way to improve procedure results. Eligibility still depends on a health screening. Before a patient uses the chamber, the attending director reviews respiratory and ear-related history during consultation, because pressurized oxygen exposure is not appropriate for everyone.

One Building, One Recovery Path

Our Gangnam clinic occupies the second and third floors of UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam at Teheran-ro 8-gil 13, and our Seocho location sits inside UH FLAT The Seocho. Both operate as on-site clinical facilities within the hotel structure rather than as separately contracted clinics elsewhere in the neighborhood. Procedures can be scheduled in a private treatment room, and our Gangnam location keeps Japanese, Chinese, and English-speaking staff on hand for consultations. We laid out how a longer stay fits together, from check-in to discharge, in Dermatology Clinic Inside a Hotel in Seoul?, which covers the building layout in more detail.

For a patient weighing a short trip against a full recovery plan, the sequence is simple: consultation, procedure, then oxygen and IV recovery time in the same building, before returning to a guest room upstairs. Nothing about that sequence requires a taxi ride or a second location.

FAQ

Who gets the oxygen chamber and vitamin IV drip for free?

We provide both free to hotel guests staying in the building. If a patient books a procedure without a hotel stay, the terms differ, so it is worth confirming availability when scheduling the consultation.

Can I use the oxygen chamber the same day as my procedure?

It depends on the type of procedure and how the skin looks that day. During the visit, the attending director evaluates recovery progress and lets the patient know when it is appropriate.

Does oxygen therapy improve my procedure results?

We do not present it that way. As the 2024 Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology review found, cosmetic use is not currently an approved indication for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We operate the chamber as a recovery amenity for the hours after a procedure, not as a treatment that changes the outcome.
