Our Gangnam clinic sits inside UH FLAT SIGNATURE, so IV vitamin drips and oxygen therapy follow a lifting or booster treatment in the same building.
Same-Day IV Drips After Your Procedure
TL;DR: Our Gangnam clinic sits on the second floor of UH FLAT SIGNATURE GANGNAM, so after a lifting or skin booster treatment you can move straight into IV vitamin drips and oxygen therapy inside the same building. Both are complimentary for guests staying at a UHC-affiliated hotel. Because the drip is an injectable, not a nutrition service, we ask about anemia, kidney function, and any history of G6PD deficiency during consultation before we recommend it.
When a trip to Seoul is short, a separate location for the procedure and a separate location for the drip can eat half a day in transit alone. In our clinic, the treatment room and the recovery space are inside the same building as the guest rooms, so there is no stretch where a patient walks out onto the street with fresh swelling and comes back in later.
Why Location Changes What a Short Trip Can Fit
Most patients we see are visiting for two to seven days, and the itinerary decides more than the treatment choice does. If the drip site is a taxi ride away, patients often skip it rather than lose an afternoon, even when we think it would help their recovery day. Because our recovery space is one elevator ride from the treatment room, the decision to add a drip or oxygen session does not compete with the rest of a short stay. That matters less for the treatment itself and more for how a patient spends the hours right after it.
Oral Versus Intravenous Vitamin C: What Actually Differs
Vitamin C taken by mouth is absorbed through the gut, and that absorption has a ceiling. Padayatty SJ, Sun H, Wang Y, Riordan HD, Hewitt SM, Katz A, Wesley RA, and Levine M reported in a 2004 pharmacokinetics study published in Annals of Internal Medicine that a 1.25g oral dose produced an average peak plasma concentration of 134.8 µmol/L, while the same dose given intravenously reached 885 µmol/L. The intravenous route skips the gut's absorption limit entirely, which is why the achievable concentration is not just higher but a different order of magnitude.
That number describes blood concentration, nothing more. We frame the drip as recovery-day support, aimed at hydration and how a patient feels on the day of treatment. We do not present it as a way to improve the outcome of the procedure itself.
What We Screen For Before an IV Drip
Intravenous vitamin C is generally well tolerated. A sepsis-trial protocol registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03509350) notes that acute hemolysis is a rare event with high-dose intravenous vitamin C and occurs primarily in patients with G6PD deficiency, which is why that trial excludes such patients from enrollment. Case reports describing hemolysis after IV vitamin C have similarly involved a substantial share of patients with G6PD deficiency.
So before a drip, we ask:
Whether the patient has ever been diagnosed with anemia, a blood disorder, or G6PD deficiency
Whether there is a history of kidney disease or kidney stones
What medications the patient is currently taking and what procedures they have had recently
If any of these apply, we either advise against the drip or move ahead with the scheduled treatment and plan recovery through a different approach.
How the Recovery Flow Works in Practice
Dr. Kim Yeonjin, our director, performs the procedure in a private treatment room. Once it is finished, the same building holds the oxygen chamber and the IV vitamin drip, and the guest room is reachable by elevator from there. Our Gangnam location keeps Japanese, Chinese, and English-speaking interpreting staff on site, so booking and aftercare instructions can be confirmed in a patient's own language rather than translated on the spot.
For what happens over the rest of the stay and after returning home, we've laid out the recovery stages in our guide to recovering from a Seoul skin procedure.
FAQ
Can I get a drip the same day as my procedure?
In most cases, yes. If swelling or discomfort at the treatment site is more pronounced than usual, we sometimes recommend a period of observation before the drip rather than proceeding right away.
Can I book the drip on its own, without a procedure?
The oxygen chamber and IV vitamin drip are complimentary for guests staying at a UHC-affiliated hotel. If you want to use either without a procedure, let us know when you book and we can arrange the timing.
I'm visiting from Japan. Can the consultation happen in Japanese?
Yes. Our Gangnam location keeps Japanese-speaking interpreting staff on site, and both the booking process and aftercare instructions are handled in Japanese.
Does the drip make the procedure results better?
We don't state that directly. It may support how a patient feels during the recovery window, but what shapes the actual result is the diagnosis, the treatment plan, and recovery habits like sun protection and sleep.
Tell us your travel dates and skin concern, and we'll work out how to fit the procedure and recovery into the same stay during consultation.
