Pico fractional treatment for pores and scars
Pico fractional treatment for pores and scars

Pico fractional treatment creates microscopic treatment zones that stimulate regeneration without deeply ablating the entire skin surface. Recovery is often milder than with ablative fractional lasers, but it cannot eliminate every visible pore or scar in a single session.

Pores have different causes

Excess sebum production, loss of elasticity, superficial scarring, and dehydration can all make pores appear more visible. Pico fractional treatment may refine skin texture, while sebum control or skin-tightening treatment may also be needed.

Set different expectations for superficial and deep scars

Fine superficial scars may respond to repeated gentle treatments. Deep rolling, boxcar, or ice-pick scars may require subcision, focal treatments, or combination treatment with radiofrequency.

Pico devices are not identical

Wavelength, lens type, and energy-delivery pattern determine treatment depth and tissue response. The device name matters less than matching the treatment parameters to the patient’s skin tone and risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

I am Dr. Kyungsoo Kim. I explain the possibility of redness, dryness, and fine crusting and emphasize moisturization and sun protection. Using reproducible energy settings and documenting progress is safer than applying excessive energy.
