Botox, dermal fillers, and ultrasound lifting are not one-time fixes, but "how often" does not mean the same thing for each of them. Botox fades as muscle relaxation wears off, filler longevity depends on the material used, and ultrasound lifting results build up gradually over months rather than appearing right away. Skin keeps aging in the meantime, so the right time for your next session should follow how much of the previous effect remains and how your skin looks now — not a date circled on a calendar.

Hello, I'm Dr. Kim Yeonjin, lead director of UH CELL Clinic's Gangnam branch.
What Fades, and How
Botox: muscle relaxation wears off
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) explains that botulinum toxin injections for wrinkles temporarily relax the treated muscle, and that this effect typically lasts three to four months, sometimes longer. The AAD notes that a follow-up treatment can be scheduled once the wrinkles reappear, and that repeated treatment can thin the muscle over time, which may extend how long each result lasts.
Filler: longevity depends on the material
According to the AAD, most fillers produce temporary results, so repeat treatment is needed to maintain them. The AAD gives general duration ranges that vary widely by material — roughly four to twelve months for hyaluronic acid fillers and one to three years for poly-L-lactic acid. The AAD also points out that the right time for a repeat treatment is when signs of aging reappear, since the skin keeps aging regardless of what treatment was done.
Ultrasound lifting: results show up later
The AAD describes ultrasound lifting as a treatment that delivers heat to deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen production. A single session typically produces gradual lifting and firmness over about two to six months, and additional sessions may add further improvement. That delayed timeline is exactly why how your skin looks right after treatment isn't a reliable basis for deciding when to come back.
Setting Your Next Appointment by Diagnosis, Not a Calendar
We diagnose each patient's skin condition before designing a treatment, and we don't run fixed, one-size-fits-all packages. So instead of a blanket "come back in a few months," we look at which treatment you had, where it was done, and your current skin condition together before setting your next date. Keeping a simple record of the treatment name and date from your last visit makes this judgment easier during consultation.
