For a 2-night Seoul visit, Botox and non-ablative lasers carry the lightest recovery load, while filler bruising can last 7-14 days and ablative lasers may need 2-3 weeks. Plan procedures by counting backward from your departure date, not by treatment name.
For a two-night Seoul visit, Botox and non-ablative lasers carry the lightest recovery load. Hyaluronic acid filler can leave redness, swelling or occasional bruising for 7-14 days, and ablative lasers may need 2-3 weeks of recovery, which is hard to fit into a short stay. Choosing procedures gets easier once you set your departure date and your first appointment after landing home, rather than starting from a list of treatment names.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kim Yeonjin, director of UH CELL Clinic's Gangnam branch. If you're coming to Seoul for a short trip, I recommend building your schedule before you build your treatment list. Downtime actually splits into three separate dates: when you return to normal activity, when visible marks fade, and when the result becomes visible. On a short stay, these three dates often fall on different days.
Recovery and Results Timing by Treatment
Treatment
Recovery and results
On a 2-night, 3-day trip
Botox
Most patients return to daily activity immediately; results usually appear within 3-7 days
You may leave Seoul before the full effect shows
Hyaluronic acid filler
Redness, swelling and tenderness, with occasional bruising, tend to resolve within 7-14 days
Marks can still be visible by the time you're back home
Non-ablative laser
Downtime is usually minimal, but a course of several sessions is often needed for a satisfying result
Realistic to do one session on this visit
Ablative laser (such as CO2)
Depending on depth, recovery can take 2-3 weeks
Difficult to fit into a short stay
The American Academy of Dermatology notes that most patients can return to their normal activities right after Botox, with results typically visible within 3-7 days. The same organization explains that redness, swelling, tenderness and occasional bruising after filler injections tend to fade within 7-14 days. The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery states that non-ablative lasers often involve little to no downtime but usually require multiple sessions for a satisfying outcome, while ablative lasers can require 2-3 weeks of recovery depending on depth.
Counting Backward From Your Departure Date
Time Botox 3-7 days before the day you want the result visible. Confirmation of the full effect may happen after you've already flown home.
For filler, check first whether your post-return schedule, such as a wedding, a work trip or a photo shoot, sits at least 7-14 days after your appointment.
For laser treatment, confirm first whether it is ablative or non-ablative, since that distinction decides whether it fits your trip at all.
Even the same treatment can heal differently depending on the area treated, the amount used and your skin condition. That's why it helps to tell us your departure date, any medications you're taking, and whether you've bruised easily in the past when we talk during consultation.
Recovery Continues Inside the Hotel
Our Gangnam branch operates on the 2nd and 3rd floors of UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam as an on-site hotel facility, and treatment takes place in a private room. If you're staying at this hotel, you can return to your room to rest after your procedure without leaving the building.
Our Gangnam branch also has interpreting staff on site who can support Japanese, Chinese and English. Let us know your departure date and your schedule after returning home, in whichever language is comfortable for you, and we'll work out a treatment order that fits this particular stay during your consultation.
Skin response and recovery time vary from person to person. Please discuss your exact diagnosis and treatment plan with a physician during consultation.
