While planning where to stay after a Seoul skin procedure, most visitors ask which neighborhood is best. That is the wrong question. When a treatment and its recovery both have to happen inside a short trip, the answer is not a neighborhood. It is a building. Our Gangnam location sits on the second and third floors of the UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam hotel, and our Seocho location operates inside the UH FLAT The Seocho building. When the treatment room and the guest room share one address, we do not have to coordinate transportation, interpretation, and aftercare as three separate problems. They are one hallway.

Short Stays Make Recovery Logistics Part of the Treatment Plan
According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, more than 2 million foreign patients visited Korea for medical treatment in 2025, and dermatology accounted for 62.9 percent of those visits, the largest share of any specialty. Patients from China and Japan together made up 60.6 percent of the total. Most of these visitors are not staying for weeks. A large share of international dermatology patients plan trips measured in days, which means the time between a procedure and getting back to a hotel room is not a minor detail. It is part of the treatment plan itself.
When a patient has two or three days before a flight home, every transfer between a clinic and a hotel is dead time that could go toward rest. A taxi ride in Gangnam traffic, a wait for an elevator in an unfamiliar building, a phone call to a front desk in a language the patient does not speak: none of this helps the skin recover, and all of it adds friction to a trip that already has a fixed departure date. We designed our recovery model around removing that friction rather than working around it.
Treatment Spending Is a Small Part of What Patients Actually Spend
The Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade estimated that foreign patients and the companions traveling with them spent 12.5 trillion won on medical tourism in 2025, while only 3.3 trillion won of that total went toward the treatments themselves. The remainder went toward accommodation and the rest of the stay. That gap matters for how we think about the patient experience. If treatment spending is a small fraction of what a patient actually pays during a trip, then where that patient stays, and how well that stay is designed around the treatment, has more influence on the outcome of the whole trip than the procedure alone.
This is also why we do not treat the hotel as a convenience add-on. A clinic that only offers a discount at a nearby hotel is still asking a patient to manage two separate schedules, two separate check-ins, and two separate sets of staff. We built our recovery process around a single building instead, because a patient recovering from a procedure benefits more from one door to walk through than from a partnership between two businesses that happen to be near each other.
What We Built Around This
Our two locations are not clinics with a hotel partnership down the street. They operate as part of the hotel building itself. Treatments take place in private treatment rooms, and we provide an oxygen chamber and vitamin IV drip at no charge to hotel guests. That is the structural reason we placed recovery care where we did: a patient can finish a treatment, take an elevator, and rest in a guest room without a second trip across the city. Our Gangnam location keeps Japanese, Chinese, and English-speaking staff on site, so a consultation, the treatment itself, and recovery instructions can happen in one language from start to finish, without a patient having to repeat their history to a new person at each stage.
We built this because the alternative, coordinating a clinic visit and a hotel stay as two unrelated bookings, works against exactly the kind of short, tightly scheduled trip that most of our international patients are taking. A same-building layout does not shorten a procedure. It shortens everything around the procedure, which is where a short trip actually loses time.
FAQ
Do I need to book my hotel stay and my clinic appointment separately?
No. Because treatment and accommodation are in the same building, you can plan your appointment around your check-in and check-out times rather than treating them as two separate errands.
Is the oxygen chamber and vitamin IV drip available to everyone?
They are provided at no charge to hotel guests. If you are not staying at the hotel, check with us directly before your visit to confirm availability.
Can I get a consultation without an interpreter?
Our Gangnam location keeps Japanese, Chinese, and English-speaking staff on site, so you can go through consultation and recovery guidance in your own language without needing to arrange outside interpretation.
